This Ashram was established in 1985 by Swami Rajakrishna. It is located at Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, the southernmost State of India. Trivandrum is only 20 km away from Kovalam which is an international tourist spot. Thousands of aspirants, Indian and foreign, benefited from this Ashram so far. The aim is to spread peace and happiness to mankind. Swami
Rajakrishna says - "Most of the people of the present day world are
in search of more material pleasures for peace, but finally end up in suffering. Science & Technology lead man to mere material progress.
But the mind of man remains uncultured/unspiritual, which is not better
than an intelligent animal. Centuries
back he killed his own kind with stones and axes, but now the same is
repeated with modern weapons. It is too late that man should realize this
fast approaching threat to man-kind." "Yoga
way of life" taught by Swami Rajakrishna will be bringing total
peace to the aspirants. Through Yogic exercises body is made healthy and
by meditation the mind is made to rest in peace and mental faculties are
developed for more constructive activities. Practitioners of yoga all over
the world prove this. Swami Rajakrishna's view is that "we need a strong and healthy body for perfection (God realization) in this life itself. If a person is having any disease he cannot concentrate properly on God and his time is wasted on thinking of disease, medicine and doctor and the money spent for these. Body is the microcosm and he has to find out who he is and why he is suffering in a body. Yoga and meditation help him to find an answer to this query. Yoga exercises are most important to calm down the body making it free from all diseases and to work out his dharma and karma (fulfilling or discarding past desires and vasanas (impressions) acquired in the past lives and in this life) and to do proper meditation and raise the latent Kundalini power in him. Ashtanga yoga (Yoga of eight parts) is best suited for this path. In this yoga three important paths of Jnana (wisdom), Yoga and Bhakthi (devotion to God) are combined. So this method is supreme under an able Guru."
" "A branch of the Ashram is situated 14 km north of the city, which is surrounded by coconut palms and rubber plantations near a catchment area of a dam, Aruvikara. The village surroundings give a panoramic view of the river and blue mountains at distance, free from all sounds of city traffic and all kinds of pollutions. The practice of yoga and meditation in such a silent surrounding gives a blissful experience and make anyone forget all his busy nature of stressful life. It bestows with everlasting peace and happiness cherishing in memory in the whole of one's life.
" " On arrival at the International Air Port, Trivandrum guidance will be given to reach the Ashram. Better accommodation and food is provided and the visitors are guided to nearby important tourist places, if they are interested. Having no specific winter, short rainy days in June and October will make all very joyful. |
